His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office in a sabda stresses that those who hold fast to Al-Qur'an are also those who are stronger in facing external negative influences, as well as more educated in identifying and empowering the values of the national philosophy, Malay Islamic Monarchy. His Royal Highness made the sabda at the opening of the Final of the National Musabaqah Al-Qur'an Reading for Adults 1447 Hijrah/2026. The ceremony took place at the Plenary Hall, International Convention Centre in Berakas, 27th April night.

 

Upon arrival, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince was greeted by

 

- Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Awang Haji Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs;

 

- Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd. Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy;

 

- Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Doctor Dayang Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, Minister of Education

 

- And Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha, Minister of Transport and Infocommunications as well as members of the Musabaqah Executive Committee. 

 

Also in attendance was His Royal Highness' brother, His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik.

 

The reading of Surah Al-Fatihah was led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar.

 

In his welcoming remarks, the Minister of Religious Affairs touched on the efforts of various parties to implement the learning of Al-Qur'an.

 

His Royal Highness in the sabda said the Musabaqah Ceremony is an important platform in the country's ongoing efforts to uphold Al-Qur'an as an eminent, guiding principle and comprehensive guide to life.

 

His Royal Highness in the sabda opined that being Al-Qur'an Literate demands for a generation who make Al-Qur'an as the ultimate guideline in facing any form of life's challenges, in line with the nation's aspirations, namely to continuously preserve the well-being of the people and beloved country through the idea of comprehensive development  covering spiritual, intellectual, economic, and social aspects.

 

Six participants presented their readings on the first night. They were Awang Ahmad Naufal bin Haji Nor Asman; Dayang Nur Amal Atiqah alias Aida binti Haji Sudirman; Awang Mohammad Ayob bin Ali; Dayang Amal Nazirah binti Haji Asmat; Pengiran Muhd Amirul Aiman bin Pengiran Haji Marjuki AND Dayangku Alma Hazirah binti Pengiran Haji Jofri.

 

A Nasyid performance, Al-Qur'an Syafa'ah enlivened the ceremony with the musabaqah theme song by the students of Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Al-Qur'an Tahfiz Institute.

 

6 more participants presented their readings on the 28th of April evening.
